Posted in Cripple Bastards, Mindrot, Psykoosi, Rupture on October 3rd, 2025 by foadmaster2022

One of F.O.A.D.’s best-known strategies is that our release schedule jumps from different musical genres with a versatility that very few underground labels have. And this time, the change is totally radical: last month we delighted you with classic Japanese heavy metal, at times more doom and at times more thrash oriented, now everything is taken to the extreme with an October entirely dedicated to hyper-fast hardcore, grindcore, crust and the like.  It’s difficult to put what we’re about to announce in order of priority, but probably the most eagerly awaited release is the LP reissue of the 1990 demo by Californian heavyweights MINDROT, on vinyl for the first time! A true monument of apocalyptic doom/crust in the unique style and mood of that band and that specific period.  Then, still from the early 90’s, one of our favorite bands: the Aussie potheads RUPTURE! Their “Baser apes” EP on Slap A Ham Records remains one of their most iconic, deranged and schizoid outputs.  Finally, here’s the expanded reissue with the remastered original mix on side A and the “Righteous apes” mix on side B, with a Negative Approach cover as a bonus.  Then a big celebration at F.O.A.D.: October 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the most loved/hated and game-changing album by CRIPPLE BASTARDS, “Misantropo a senso unico”. An excellent opportunity to bring it back into our catalog with a special edition featuring a wealth of extras such as OBI strip, poster, bonus CD, and much more. And last but not least, a new revelation on the international grindcore scene, a Finnish band living in a time machine stuck in 1988 when Earache Records was churning out the first grindcore milestones and Napalm Death was playing at the Mermaid three times a week, annihilating brains with hits from “Scum” and “FETO”.  We are talking about PSYKOOSI and their album “Our so called future”,  a collection of their demos/live recordings for the first time on LP.  So, to sum up: MINDROT “Demo 1990” LP, RUPTURE “Baser apers years” gatefold LP, CRIPPLE BASTARDS “Misantropo a senso unico – 25 anniversary edition” gatefold LP+CD, and PSYKOOSI “Our so called future” LP on F.O.A.D. Records are available for pre-order via www.scareystore.com.

As always, we have prepared a limited bundle for those who want to purchase all four diehard versions. Please note that these titles are expected to sell out fairly quick, so the offer and availability will not last long. And one last note: please do not bombard us with unnecessary requests such as changing items within an order, changing addresses, changing payment methods, or anxiously asking for tracking numbers. These things slow us down, cause stress, and prevent us from working smoothly and staying on schedule.  Please be patient and, once you have placed your pre-order, give us time to prepare it, ship it, and update its shipping status.

More details on each release:

So here we are, the hectic summer season is over and we’re ready to hit the ground running with five new F.O.A.D. releases! First of all, this month is quite different from our usual fare because – with the exception of one thrashcore band (Airraid) – it’s all focused on classic heavy metal, at times doom-oriented and at times even melodic. The other peculiar thing is that we have four releases from bands called “Genocide” in the same month… In fact, when presenting the trailers, we said that this is “a month of genocides”!!  The common point for this batch is the country, as usual Japan, that as you all know by now, is a territory in which we are highly specialized and where we often return to focus our releases.  So, on the heavy/power/doom metal front, we have the legendary GENOCIDE NIPPON from Fukui, with the LP reissue of their classic “Black Sanctuary” and a collection of early works “The Ritual Days 1983-1984”.  With the same name but from another city, we complete our genocidal mission with GENOCIDE from Chiba, for the very first time on vinyl with the LP release of their 1986 demo “Fire Doll” and a full LP of unreleased sessions called “Mirage”

This is a gem for true connoisseurs that has garnered much appreciation and acclaim from the most diehard enthusiasts of pure Japanese metal. And to veer towards the more F.O.A.D. side, we also have a band more on the thrashing hardcore side, at times crossover (in the 80s sense of the word), AIRRAID with their “Staged crime” discography. So, to sum up, September on F.O.A.D. is a storm of scorching metal from the Land of the Rising Sun with: AIRRAID “Staged Crime – Complete airraid 1988/1989“ LP, GENOCIDE NIPPON ”Black sanctuary“ LP, GENOCIDE NIPPON ”The ritual days 1983-1984“ LP, GENOCIDE (Chiba) ”Fire doll“ LP and GENOCIDE (Chiba) ”Mirage” LP... all available for pre-order via www.scareystore.com
As usual, please note that we have also prepared a limited bundle for those who want to pre-order all 5 diehard/splatter versions at a discounted price in one go. It won’t be available for long, so act fast!  There’s nothing else to add… you already know the recommendations not to sleep on the limited editions because they sell out quickly and not to bombard us with unnecessary requests during the pre-order phase, so for once we won’t repeat them. Next month we’ll be back in the realm of extremism and radical sonic nihilism, so for this September, enjoy this burst of metal in pure 80’s Japanese tradition!

As you can imagine, this summer has been scorching and extremely intense here at the F.O.A.D. headquartes. From June to today, we have released 14 x LPs (not counting those with extra editions on MC or CD) and participated with our massive booth in various festivals, including the usual megablasts at Obscene Extreme and Party San Open Air! Despite the frenzy of having to divide ourselves between so many fronts and the hellish temperatures at our workplace, here we are, more or less at the end of the season, happy to announce that the death/thrash/black metal attack we had announced is ready! SOLEMN “Extinction Asaru” LP, THE HORDE OF TORMENT “Distorted recollections – The demo anthology” gatefold 2xLP, PROFANCER / PROFANATION split LP+CD, XASTHUR “The black mist of blood ritual – Unreleased session 1993” LP, and XASTHUR “Hidden lore + Unreleased session 1993” CD are all out now on F.O.A.D. Records, and all pre-orders have been shipped on time.  We still have a few copies of the splatter-marble-smoke vinyl variants, so hurry up and don’t miss out!

The bundle including all diehard editions will be available for a while longer, at our discretion. We will soon begin announcing next month’s titles… it will be a little different from usual. The clues we can give you are: 5 releases, 1x HC thrash crossover (late 80s), and 4x pure 80s heavy metal made in Japan, with names that will pleasantly surprise you!  Stay tuned….

And now more details on August’s 5x sonic disasters:

SOLEMN “Extinction Asaru” LP (F.O.A.D. 380)
Complete discography of this doom-tinged old school Death Metal unit from New Jersey! Includes their demos 1993-1995 and 3 songs from pre-SOLEMN’s evil incarnation, called “IT”.
SOLEMN used to blend the dark sound of their area’s trademark death metal (think of INCANTATION) with doomish slowdowns and gorerific death/grind bursts. Their demos “Exiled” and “Asaru breathen” are true lost gems of cryptic, cavernous U.S. death metal in pure early 90’s tradition, that absolutely deserve to be rediscovered. Sourced from the band’s master tapes. LP with insert including scans of the original demos and a fanzine interview.

Another scorching summer under the radioactive sun of F.O.A.D. Records and increasingly ruthless and mindblowing releases. After a June entirely dedicated to 80’s American hardcore and an unforgettable July between the Obscene Extreme festival and ferocious aural assaults of noise/grore/grindcore such as Fear Of God, Regurgitate, early Disharmonic Orchestra and Kandarivas, we change c(o)urse again and return to more death/thrash/black metal oriented territories, considering that August brings us to the Party San Metal Open Air festival, and what better battlefield to premiere titles like these… So we have 3 releases from Singapore: a previously unreleased 1993 session by XASTHUR, recently unearthed from the band’s archives, which now sees the light of day on vinyl/LP with a well-deserved F.O.A.D. treatment, then another CD by XASTHUR featuring their entire discography; and, by popular demand, the definitive and official version of PROFANCER / PROFANATION split LP+CD after the terribly lame editions on Zzzooouuh that ruined years and years of research that led us to tracking down the best quality master and a bunch of graphic material for a good 18 pages between inserts and booklets, for this F.O.A.D. version that puts a tombstone on the mediocrity previously delivered by the very poor Argentine label.  If from Singapore we travel through the darkest and most evil depths of old school black/death/thrash metal, the other two releases this month move to the USA with a slightly different choice of sound: from New Jersey, the complete discography of SOLEMN, ominous early 90s death metal with a rotten and cryptic approach that inevitably brings to mind Incantation, and from Nevada, the legendary THE HORDE OF TORMENT with an ultra-complete discography, for the first time on vinyl… neck-fracturing thrash metal, fast, intense, and totally underrated for the potential and energy that this band had! So, to sum up and get to the point: SOLEMN “Extinction Asaru” LP, THE HORDE OF TORMENT “Distorted recollections – The demo anthology“ gatefold 2xLP, PROFANCER / PROFANATION split LP+CD, XASTHUR ”The black mist of blood ritual – Unreleased session 1993“ LP and XASTHUR ”Hidden lore + Unreleased session 1993” CD are all available for pre-order via www.scareystore.com

As usual, we have prepared a limited bundle for those who want to grab the diehard versions of the 4 LPs in one go. It won’t last long, so act fast! And to conclude, our usual requests, which we will never tire of repeating: 1) If you are interested in the diehard colored vinyl versions, all limited to 100 copies, don’t sleep on it because they will sell out quickly. 2) It’s the middle of summer and we are alternating between hard work at our warehouse and open-air festivals thousands of Kms away from our headquarters, which means our staff is spread thin and very busy. Please, once an order is placed, it is final: don’t bombard us with confusing messages for additions, substitutions, changes, payments different from those originally requested, address changes, anxiety about tracking numbers, and so on. All of this causes stress and inevitably slows down our schedule, affecting both the speed with which we ship packages and prepare releases for the coming months. Thanks!

And now here are the detailed descriptions of the 5x atrocities we are proposing this time around:
