GHOSTRIDER was one of the first and most primitive incarnations of Italian blackmetal/thrash evil in 1984. Like a shooting star of death, GHOSTRIDER made the Italian metal history back in 1984/85, before disbanding and transforming into an even more famous and influential Italian thrash metal monster…NECRODEATH! We at FOAD Records already unearthed and released the ultrare demos from 1984, “Mayhemic Destruction” on a limited edition 10″ for the joy of fans and metal heads the world over. Luckily, our interest moved some esoteric forces and now, in 2010, GHOSTRIDER is back from the grave to break some eardrums again. Fresh off a glorious Italian rampage with WEHRMACHT, CRIPPLE BASTARDS have officially released “Frammenti Di Vita” as CD album of TVOR and FOAD Records. The album was presented nationally during the tour with WEHRMACHT and the response was, as always, quite overwhelming. The press already released positive comments, stating that “Cripple Bastards (…) made a GREAT tribute album, because, even if playing in a recognizable way, they remained stuck to the original songs, playing a faithful and humble tribute to the great bands of Italian past“.

We decided to talk more about this project asking a few questions to Giulio the Bastard, the mastermind behind CRIPPLE BASTARDS for the past grinding, furious, nihilistic 20 years… this should clarify some of the doubts and major questions the fans had about “Frammenti Di Vita”…

CRIPPLE BASTARDS have just finished recording and mixing a brand new full length including all covers of ’80s Italian Hardcore/Thrash classics, to be released this coming November 25th on the cult label T.V.O.R. (tvor 022) co-released by FOAD Records (Foad 012) , just in time to be presented during their string of Italian shows with US Thrash/Speedcore pioneers WEHRMACHT.
Here’s a short quote written by the band introducing the CD: “In 1994, the German Noise/Grind/Thrash label Ecocentric Records released a CRIPPLE BASTARDS 7″ called “Frammenti di vita” featuring covers of early ’80s Italian Hardcore bands butchered in our own style. For years we had been planning to record a definitive full length follow up with different songs than the previous EP… we finally made it – only16 years later.
